Hop Along is an indie-alternative band hailing from Pennsylvania with their third album, Bark Your Head Off, Dog. For starters lead singer Frances Quinlan has one of the most unique and mesmerizing voices that I have heard in a while. It has a certain raspiness to it that makes her vocal performance on this album vulnerable when it needs to be, and assertive and kick-ass when the time calls. Another aspect about her voice that I greatly appreciated was the fact that it never got to the point of absurdity.

This 2018 Album contains the same instrumental glory of past albums by Rhye, combining a dominant piano, analog synths, natural percussion, with strong but soft vocals. However this time they bring their music to the listener with a much stronger sense of the Psychedelic. First coming to bloom in the Public eye in 2013 under the album “Woman” Rhye now comes out with an equally sexy sounding, slow and forlorn album.

This LA-based band's self-titled album is a blend of different types of genres and feels like getting hit by a train from beginnning to end, in a good way though. This band will blow you out of the water with their short songs full of raw originality. It is filled with eccentric rock'n'roll guitar riffs accompanied by Arrow de Wilde and Henri Cash's sweet ass vocals. I promise that this album will take you on a trip.

Porches, an American synth-pop band, followed up their well-received sophomore album Pool (2016), with their latest record The House. The House starts off with Leave This House, a groovy and relatively upbeat synth pop track. This however is not indicative of the project as a whole because the majority of tracks on this album are much slower and introspective. Songs like Country and Goodbye give a better feel for the album as a whole, an album that is extremely dreary, and introspective into the emotions following heartbreak.

The Holy Dark is a band based in Portland, Oregon. With their folksy and mellow tunes, their album Pretty Little Bird encapsulates woodsy life and when I listened to it, I pictured mountains and forests. They incorporate upbeat and slower songs, which makes their album very refreshing because they aren’t all one tempo. All of the tracks have the distinct guitar accompaniment, but they add other melodies and instruments. Pretty Little Birds sounds very cohesive and all the tracks are unified to create a sound distinctly their own.

Seattle-based Indie-rock artist Posse start out with a Slow and progressive intro with heavy guitar riffs on their album, called "Horse Blanket". Real easy-going rhythm that reminds me of some of my favorite 90s Alt bands.
Track #2 ("Shiver"): Gradual rhythm and lyrics back this song seem more memorable in a strictly poetic sense.
