Trap

Artist:
Jack Ü, Beyoncé
Label:
OSWLA, Mad Decent

Even though Jack Ü has dissapointed me so far, I actually really like this remix. Skrilex & Diplo have created one of the better trap remixes of the year, with the drop bringing the filth. Definitely a contender for best trap remix of the year.

JayKode provides us with a fresh and clean cut trap version of Galantis' "Runaway (U&I)". Very progressive with the drop so bassheads be warned.

Tegi provides us with a trap edit of his original track "Baddaman". The Baddaman Trap Mix is essentially a festival trap remix of a festival (bigroom) house track, and a very good one at that. One of the better tracks to come out in the past 2 weeks.

This Wu - Tang remix is provided to us by DJ Green Lantern. It has a solid intro, old school hip hop samples, and brass horns playing out the melody of a pretty filthy trap drop. Definitely is a must listen for any trap enthusiast.

Lookas has done it again. Festival Trap banger. Nothing else to it. If you play trap, this is a must play.

Awesome and unique intro. Song structure is genereic festival trap. But the drop...the drop was completely outta this world. If you like unique, experimental, filthy trap. play this.

I'll start by saying that diehard rap fans can probably find better Big Sean verses and that diehard trap fans can probably find better RL Grime than Kingpin has to offer. That being said, I have played Kingpin on my own shows- which maily feautre rap and trap- multiple times, and the track does have value to offer.

Chynna is a rapper from Philadelphia that has been linked with several members of the A$AP Mob, but holds her own with her solo material. Her latest offering is "MadeInChynna" a Hudson Mohawke produced banger that Chynna sounds so good over. She has a super relaxed flow, it can feel at times that Chynna is holding back, but other songs on her SoundCloud, such as "Glen Coco" prove otherwise.

Chimes:

Has that lo-fi, 8-bit sound that is gaining some traction in some underground dance music (IDM, namely), some heavy horns, and some clean, melodic chimes. Intro and breakdown are dreamy, verses are heavy and grimey- dropped in with the deep "WHO." Overall not bad, but not personally a fan of the noisiness of 8-bit.
