Pusher

Black Butter Records

Pusher is a DJ producer who has recently made some waves in the clubs of Toronto with some stellar productions and remixes. In his new work, New Laces EP, Pusher puts forth an amazing set of great tunes. His sound is familiar, yet unique. It's pretty, but hits hard. Let me explain. In the world of EDM, future bass is absolutely taking over and many DJs and Producers are diving into this genre, and following the same general mold. There's something about Pusher's take on Future Bass in this EP that is so refreshing.

Soulja Boy is a rapper out of Atlanta who gained lots of fame through his hits like Crank That, Kiss Me Thru the Phone, and Pretty Boy Swag. Let me preface this review by saying that I really enjoyed Soulja Boy's music earlier in his career. That being said, this isn't just the worst rap album I have heard in a long time, maybe ever. This is the worst album in general that I have heard in a good while. First of all, the songs are unoriginal and uninspired. The beats are more bland than Life cereal.

Tory Lanez

Mad Love/Interscope Records

This album showcases Tory Lanez' versatility as an aritst, it is cruicial to showcase musical range as this is Lanez' debut album. The album begins with I Told You/ Another One, a trap song, definatley a banger! The pace slows down with Guns And Roses, Flex, Friends With Benefits, Say It, 4am Flex, and Cold Hard Love. The songs are mid-tempo with soft vocals. Not bangers, but kickback friendly.

Rich Chigga

CXSHXNLY

This up and coming Indonesian rap star may look silly in his stereotypical dad outfit, fanny pack included, but don’t underestimate the talent of this 17-year-old. With a shockingly low voice, Rich Chigga coolly raps over infectious trap-influenced beats on “Dat $tick”, the remix of it, and “Who That Be.” Most of the lyrics on his songs are the usual rap lyrics, such as being a gangster, in the club, or the best and having women.

Rae Sremmurd, the iconic Atlanta-based duo known for their simple, upbeat songs like "Throw Sum Mo" or "No Flex Zone," verge more into the dark side of their music compared to their debut album, SremmLife, in the sequel, SremmLife 2. Like SremmLife, one-liners and repetitive choruses dominate most of the lyrics with bass as the main focus for the instrumental. However, in SremmLife 2, there are less of the upbeat songs that most people know them for.

T.I.

Grand Hustle

T.i. is using his voice as a well-known rapper to speak out on police brutality, discrimination, and the racial inequality within America. The music is classic T.I. mixed with his political input. "We Will Not," "Warzone," and "40 Acres" are the bangers on this album. "40 Acres" is the perfect song for making racists unfomrtable; awesome cyphers over a trap beat. If you ever wanted a trap song about police brutality, "Black Man" is the one for you!

Vincent is an electronic music producer who has come onto the Soundcloud scene with his beautiful, yet heavy and banging trap tracks, like "No Mercy" and "Only". This track however shows a seemingly different path he is taking with his music. His new single, "Retrograde" is a lot more chill and has many aspects of chill trap and future in it, and even has some jungle elements in there.

Gucci Mane ft. Travi$ Scott

Atlantic

Gucci Mane mentioning the clone conspiracy surrounding him and calling himself "Gucci Mane Picasso" are some of the highlights of the new single from the Atlanta rapper. Travi$ Scott with a verse and controlling the chorus with his signature laid-back vocals maintains the chill vibe over the beat. As far as the beat is concerned, it's simplistic, formulaic, and repetitive. It sounds like every other trap beat so if you're looking for a song with original instrumentals, this isn't it. However, it's only this way to suit the song.

BANGER ALERT! Over the course of their career, Slumberjack has released exceptionally unique trap-based music that will have your mind whirling in a trance. The duo's latest single, RA, is a recommended track by yours truly to play around people who you want to impress. I can't make any promises, but I know from experience that people will start movin' and groovin' the moment that first drop hits you straight in the face. This song is unbelievably dynamic, building with a dark, ambient, synth sound, and an intensity that may give you goosebumps.
