Trap

Artist:
Rick Ross

Epic Records

YO this album go soft and hard at the same time. Chris Rock yellin and being savage, just makes it that much better. Trap Trap Trap easily one of my favorites, young thug spitting bars again, and this time you can understand him a bit better. Summer Seventeen, we've heard it somewhere, cough* Purple Lamborghin *cough. It's all good it's still lit. Maybach music hits hard once again, and delivers an a great sound that sticks. Ross is able to single handedly and skillfully put many of his personal styles in one album.

TRAPNINJA 101 is honestly one of the hardest albums I have ever listened to, made me want to straight rob a bank. I suddenly now own a trap house and I'm selling crack after listening to this album. Jokes aside this album is consistently good throughout and it flows really well. The beats, to me sounded a lot like Riff Raff's beats which is a good thing. Can I mention about the album cover, my man looks like he is wearing ski goggles and it looks cool just based off listening to the music.

Future doing what he does best, throwin bangers! This album came out of nowhere, no ads, not big hype, just a fat album with some great tracks. The percussion is nasty, its grimy, its hard, its everything this east coast ATL rapper is about, just making you feel badass. Songs like Rent Money has some killer savage lines and POA just lays down a hard trap beat. One of my favorite tracks, Mask Off, is an amazing production with a sweet flute sample and a catchy flow. I would be surprised if this doesn't make it to the charts.

"MILAULONGTIME" is Mila J's 7-track Valentines Day mixtape. Although it's a Valentines drop, the songs are pretty diverse in moods. The opening track MOVE is a trap banger with that 'fuck the haters' type of vibe. FUCKBOY is a funky r&b song, probably holds the record for r&b song with the most f-bombs. YESTERDAY is a trap ballad featuring I.Rich.

Adolph "Young Dolph" Thorton released his new mixtape "Gelato" the day after releasing Play Wit Yo Bitch, a Yo Gotti diss track. The 11-track mixtape begins with title track Gelato and ends with the You Gotti diss track. The features on this record blend well with Young Dolph's trap style. Wiz Khalifa is featured on On the River.

22 Savage, not to be confused with the totally not famous rapper 21 Savage, has a new mixtape called "Nothing 2 Live 4." While it may seem that 22 Savage has so many things to live for (his hos, his money, his hood, and his reputation), surprisingly enough he still has nothing to live for. Maybe it's because people still think that 21 Savage is better than 22 Savage? Don't be confused, as 22 Savage says, "this ain't 21 b****, this 22!" He makes that abundantly clear in the first track.

In all honesty, I had always heard of RiFF RAFF, but never really heard his music before... asides some of Lil Debbie's songs in which he is featured in. He's also someone that I never knew was meant to be taken seriously, or just turn your brain off and listen to his music. With two studio albums and a plethora of mixtapes under his belt, RiFF RAFF's nineteenth mixtape titled Aquaberry Aquarius actually managed to blow away my expectations of both his music, and my perception of him as an artist.

G Jones has done it again. The Visions EP is 23 minutes of your life that you will not get back, not that you will you want to get back.  While trying to come up with comparisons to other artists G Jones is a possibly more glitchy Bassnectar. Jones definitely stayed true to his style in the “Visions” EP. After seeing G Jones DESTROY Gem and Jam I could not be more excited to review this EP.

When Katy Perry brought out the legendary Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliot out as a guest performer for her 2015 Super Bowl Half-Time Show performance, it made me realize that Missy Elliot has been absent from the music world for quite some time. Her last record The Cookbook was released back in 2005 - 12 years ago, with her last single "WTF (Where They From) being released back in 2015. A little over 2 weeks ago, Missy surprised the world with a brand new single AND a music video, and garnered a good amount of attention for it.
