Trap

Artist:
Desiigner
Label:
UMG Recordings

Desiigner redeems himself after a devastating flop on his latest album New English. It's a good step up from what he's released, more of that hype, and hard beats. HE keeps the flows fresh, and maintains the signature sound he had you hooked on from the release of Panda. Instrumentals, could have been better, but I think the verses make up for it. You wont be dissapointed with these tracks. Definately radio worthy, hopefully they can be cleaned in time for play

Rich the Kid, the Atlanta rapper that everyone has heard of once but doesn't really choose to acknowledge, has released his new mixtape, "The Rich Forever Way." While his song "Plug", which is not on this mixtape, has been popular right now, it's mostly because of the features on it, such as Kodak Black. This mixtape proves that Rich the Kid is better with features than by himself.

Jai Wolf released three remixes of his song “Like It’s Over feat. MNDR. (Which if you haven’t already checked out give it a listen)

The first of the three remixes was made by Ramziod. It is not an aggressive remix. It seems to be a great song to lie down and relax alone with. The drop has elements of future bass but is not overwhelming. Overall I think Ramziod did a beautiful job on an already beautiful song.

In all my time of doing CD reviews (which is not very long but still), I've never been so pleasantly surprised with a small-time rapper before. Pimp Dzol has charisma and power which I think are the two key things that every hip-hop artist needs. While he's not exactly over the top in the lyrics department, Pimp Dzol's intense voice still keeps you engaged and listening to his voice. Not to mention, both of the songs "Turnt Up" and "I Own That" have a bass heavy, typical hip-hop beat.

YO this album go soft and hard at the same time. Chris Rock yellin and being savage, just makes it that much better. Trap Trap Trap easily one of my favorites, young thug spitting bars again, and this time you can understand him a bit better. Summer Seventeen, we've heard it somewhere, cough* Purple Lamborghin *cough. It's all good it's still lit. Maybach music hits hard once again, and delivers an a great sound that sticks. Ross is able to single handedly and skillfully put many of his personal styles in one album.

TRAPNINJA 101 is honestly one of the hardest albums I have ever listened to, made me want to straight rob a bank. I suddenly now own a trap house and I'm selling crack after listening to this album. Jokes aside this album is consistently good throughout and it flows really well. The beats, to me sounded a lot like Riff Raff's beats which is a good thing. Can I mention about the album cover, my man looks like he is wearing ski goggles and it looks cool just based off listening to the music.

Future doing what he does best, throwin bangers! This album came out of nowhere, no ads, not big hype, just a fat album with some great tracks. The percussion is nasty, its grimy, its hard, its everything this east coast ATL rapper is about, just making you feel badass. Songs like Rent Money has some killer savage lines and POA just lays down a hard trap beat. One of my favorite tracks, Mask Off, is an amazing production with a sweet flute sample and a catchy flow. I would be surprised if this doesn't make it to the charts.

"MILAULONGTIME" is Mila J's 7-track Valentines Day mixtape. Although it's a Valentines drop, the songs are pretty diverse in moods. The opening track MOVE is a trap banger with that 'fuck the haters' type of vibe. FUCKBOY is a funky r&b song, probably holds the record for r&b song with the most f-bombs. YESTERDAY is a trap ballad featuring I.Rich.
