“Terminally Ill” featuring Tech N9ne, Chino XL, KXNG Crooked, Rittz, and DJ Statik Selektal is not my favorite. The rapping was decent, and super fast-paced. I really have no idea what they are saying, but energy is present. The producer mixes the track too, so half the time the track is EDM. While the EDM parts are probably meant for dancing, I honestly could not dance to this beat. Not to mention this track 6:37, which is really long since the song is so repetitive.

Wow this is immediately not what I was expecting.  Totally experimental sound. It is like 80s Synth meets Techno meets 80s Pop meets the jam rhythm that made the Dead famous.

Track #2 ("Wayward Son"): starts out experimental once again and transitions into a beautiful pop rhythm complete with pop singing. It is delightfully poppy and experimental throughout.

This is a new collaborative single by EDM hitmakers Snails and NGHTMARE. It's pretty good. The lyrics are very melodic and catchy, and juxtapose themselves well against the hard EDM backdrop provided by the two producers. I wish that the signature Snails filthy parts were reduced a bit because they contrast a bit too heavily with the relative softness of the lyrics. The Snails parts make this into a hard EDM song, as opposed to a catchy pop hit. This song would be good for working out or an activity where you want to zone out and pay attention to the music.

DJ’s Pink Panda fanciful origin story tells that they originated in Britain in the 1990’s. Their remix of Havana by Camila Cabello featuring Young Thug is a phenomenal song. However, in comparison to the original track, it is subpar. The fast-paced remix, keeps Camila’s smooth Cuban vocals and Young Thug’s rap, but loses most of the Latin flare including the piano and trumpet from the original. Due to this, the track loses some of its seductive sound. The remix almost puts Cabello back into a more Fifth Harmony sound that she just left.

Astrojaxx's promo single Back to You has an upbeat and a light clubbing feel to it. Listening to it the first time, it gave me a Skrillex vibe but a lighter touch to the EDM. Super addicting to listen to and looking forward to more of Astrojaxx's music!

Barclay Crenshaw is the real name of DJ Claude VonStroke, an electronic artist who has made a name and following for himself by hitting the festival circuit and pushing the boundaries of EDM. I expected this to be similar to a VonStroke project, and frankly, I was blown away. The album heavily incorporates hip-hop elements and features while maintaining VonStroke's signature style. Upon researching the album I discovered that local Tucson artist Daniel Martin Diaz produced the art for the album, which was a definite plus.

The LA based native TOKiMONSTA’s compilation of various artists, now dubbed as the Young Art Sound compilation, brings a deeper sense and different love of the general genre known as EDM. She released her debut album back in 2014, entitled Desiderium, and it was received critically and publically extremely well. Since then, artists such as Anderson .Paak, Cri, and Gavin Turek, have joined forces with her, all of whom are actually featured in this CD.

These past few weeks leading up to finals week for me and many of my fellow students on campus has been rather hectic to say the least. However, there is a light at the end of this metaphorical tunnel filled with sleepless nights, midnight frights of tests, and best of all, so much coffee. With that being said, I want you all to clear your minds with a great slew of remixes of Pusher’s song entitled “Clear” featuring Mothica.
