Misterwives has released two singles from their upcoming album "Connect the Dots" and I am obsessed!! If you have ever listened to Misterwives before, you know their music is fun and dance-y, and just an all around good time. The first two singles from their sophomore album, "Machine" and "Oh Love", are just that, but pack a bigger punch. These songs are edgy and show Misterwives moving forward to an evolved sound from their first record.

In The Middle is my first exposure to MONA and upon reading a couple reviews, I can agree with others that this sounds a lot like Kings of Leon. The vocals are vry strong and passionate, the music around it is atmospheric and accentuates the vocals, and the rest is great. It is a very upbeat album as a whole and was very enjoyable to listen to since I already enjoy Kings of Leon and this is basically a slightly different version of that. For anyone that likes KoL, this is perfect for you.

"Heaven or Somewhere In Between" is a really great name for an album, and the album itself wasn't disappointing. It's like a lot of other alt stuff out there, female vocals, kinda haunting-sounding but in a good way. The songs are catchy, the first two are more upbeat than the last ones, but all of them are good for radio. All the songs kinda sound the same, but they're all good so it doesn't really matter that much. If you play one and like it, you'd probably love the rest of the album. Definitely a good alt album.

I absolutely love Coeur de Pirate, and this album lived up to/exceeded my expectations. Roses was a gorgeous album in both French and English. Even if you don't understand or speak French, it's still worth a listen. The songs are all very pretty and gracious sounding, with some winding lyrics and a lot of piano/guitar emphasis. I loved that each song had a very different vibe, a few of them more melancholy than the others, but still all intrinsically different from one another.

"Veracity" is a great album, very calming and indie. She's got a good voice, sort of unique. There's not a lot of people that sound like that, but in a good way. All the songs are about 3-4 minutes long. The first track sounds like something you would hear on the radio, very upbeat and a nice way to start the album. The next song is slower, but really builds in the chorus and shows off her voice.

This is Rory Atwells second album under the name Warm Brains. He is more know for being a producer who has worked with bands like YUCK and the Vaccines. This  album at times is very lo-fi indie pop sounding and other times pretty experimental and psychedelic. A similar style to that of like the band Pavement. The fact that Atwell played, mix and mastered the album all on his own is pretty impressive, especially with the amount of layers in this record. It definitely took me a couples listens to really fully grasp the album.

Pure Bathing Culture's second album "Pray for Rain" is a very melodic and tropical sounding album all the way through. It has some pretty upbeat songs that are great "mood boosters" and you can jam to. Looking through some other reviews, I learned that their first song "The Tower" was influenced by the disappearance of Malaysain Airline flight 370 which is kinda creepy but I still really like the song. The album is very upbeat for the most part but it does have those songs that get a little slower.

Looking for really catchy songs that'll get stuck in your head for days? This is the album for you. It's been three days and I can't stop singing the 4 am wake up call song. This isn't Mikal's first album, and he knows what he's doing. The whole thing sounds great, and there's even an acoustic version of the title track. Also, you can hire him to perform at your college (and he's probably cheaper than t-pain). Overall, it was a really enjoyable album, surprisingly 'rock' for being in the alt box, but that's nothing to complain about.
