Electro

Ok ok, this is the album we have all been patiently waiting for deadmau5 to drop. So do yourself the favor and clear out about 2 hours to do mundane tasks (like cleaning or doing homework) while listening to this album. There's 2 discs, and each disc has something awesome to offer, so listen to each disc thorougly :) Both discs have a really nice sprinkling of tracks with deadmau5 classic, classical touch on it. Expect a lot of piano intros, soft guitars, and slow mellow build-ups to a more electro-based drop. Some of these songs will really give you the chills and mellow you out.

Worlds

Artist:
Porter Robinson
Label:
Astralwerks

I'm sitting here writing this review and for my recommended tracks I already have tracks 1-5 in a row...So that should tell you how dope this album is. I highly recommended freeing up your day and just sitting down and listening to this. Read a book to it. Get some homework done. Just sit down and enjoy it; I implore you to. This is a kind of sound that was not expected out of Porter Robinson. He is an incredibly talented artist who experimented the heck out of this album and nailed it. All I can say is that it is just purely majestic.

Making Midnight EP

Artist:
Radial
Label:
(Self released)

Very chill-out album, with awesome lyrics and beautiful synths. Little rock, definitely pop-electro, and kinda dark too. Overall really nice to listen to.

The 4 tracks are a little bit all similar. There are some influences from Daft Punk, Kavinsky and other dark, pop-electro artists.

All the songs are good with the emphasis on 1 and 2.

Stay the Night (Single)

Artist:
Zedd
Label:
Interscope Records

The minute the music starts playing, you can tell it's Zedd. This single really helped to add even more to his Clarity album (since it was added for the Deluxe Version), and the use of Hayley Williams' vocals really adds to the track. Zedd never fails to make music that makes his audience get up and dance. Stay the Night is definitely a song you'll want to hear if you're into EDM and like to jam out.

Singles E.P.

Artist:
Flight Facilities
Label:
NONE

Flight Facilities is getting into the disco genre but not quite the raunchy stuff yet. This band mixes the perfect blend of modern disco and electro to create relaxing upbeat music to bop you head to. The singers featured in songs fit well if not make the song extremely awesome. With this pop, chill, and dancey combo, you won't know whether to stand up or not. Play it.

Iron Deer Dream (Delta Heavy Remix) Single

Artist:
Fixers
Label:
RAM Records

Production duo out of London have remixed the Fixers track Iron Deer Dream.  This track is an uplifting happy sort of dubstep.  Super solid bass that stays clean throughout the track.  High synth leads, cheerful melody and lyrics that sound upbeat and positive but feature the line "You're homicidal."   This is relatively chill dubstep for a sunny day.  After you're done crushing all your listeners with epic wobbles and destructive drops, play this to cheer them up, and help them recover.  This really is a pretty feel-good summer track.

Blissful, cute female vocals behind dramatic electronic beats. The album feels a little bit chaotic and disjointed in a not so good way, but there are some gems on the album that stand out over the noisy mush.

Dillon Francis is absolutely dominating the electronic music scene right now.  His debut album Westside EP has been played all over the country and both of these singles have been in his live performances for the past couple months.  Both songs on this EP are amazing!

NEW CRYSTAL CASTLES OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!! They’re the duo from Ontario that popularized “CHIPTUNES” which is a very obscure subgenre of GLITCH that is primarily sounds made by videogame consoles that are wired into mixers… it’s like VIDEOGAMECORE but for electro… You’ll probably be into this if you’re into ELECTROCLASH. You’ll love it for realz. Much dancier than their debut album!!!
