"A Blessing In Da Skies" was a good intro that led to the funky feel of the songs of the album -- captivating! I really enjoyed the chorus of "Lizard", positive and mellow. "Bucket of Dark Meat" (interesting title for a song) was upbeat but I found the beat of the chorus to be a bit more repititive than what I would like. "Paranoid" was a good feeling song to which I would say made me like this song the most. "My Town" had a soft "screaming" nostalgic vibe and I really resonated with the lyrics.

This is the premier album by The Voidz under their new name, and the used to be called Julian Casablancas and the Voidz. Most people know Juliam Casablancas from The Strokes, and there's definitely a taste of the same style of sound on this album, which is to be expected since Casablancas was the front-man for both bands. However, as a huge fan of The Strokes, I came to this album hoping to find music that was relatively the same as past tunes from Casablancas' band, especially because most are unsure whether or not to expect new music from The Strokes, but I did not find that.

Much like many other trends right now, the 90’s are back in music as well, and Alternative Rock is certainly no exception. I happen to be a big fan of 90’s alt rock and surf punk, which is how Decent Criminal was described, so I was pretty excited to give it a listen. Their album Bloom, in many ways, sounds like many other albums that claim to be inspired by 90’s rock, but also a little different – which I really appreciate.

Flat Worms' album Flat Worms has nothing to do with worms, and it even has a dog on the cover (which is why I chose it). Aside from awesome animals, it was a pretty decent indie rock album. A bit too garagerock/industrial sounding for my taste, but it was well-done and enjoyable to listen to. All the songs except the last track are short and exciting and you're constantly wondering what the next one will sound like. Heavy guitar, catchy choruses, and more!

Self-described as "Sounds of SoCal, soaring arena riffs, dreamy melodies, catchy anthem-like hooks," Raised on TV's first album is an experience from beginning to end. With ballads like "Goodnight Summer" and rocking tracks like "Age of Information," this album has something for everyone. It's light rock, just a nice album to listen to. The vocals sound like blink-182 to me, but this album adds in harmonies that really make it something different and unique.

Self-described as "four guys making garage-punk in a former gay sauna by the canals of Amsterdam," St. Tropez is quite the interesting garage punk band. I can only imagine what spending a day in that former gay sauna is like which may be why there music is nearly maddening with the rough and powerful sounds they produce. While I'm typically not one to enjoy rough styles of alternative, St. Tropez's style isn't too violent to not be enjoyable.

"2016" by Neutral Shirt is a great listen, especially if you're feeling a little sad and lonely. The songs embody a sweet sense of sadness and melancholy, while still being able to appreciate the beauty of life. All of the lyrics of simply poignant and hit all the right emotional notes. Neutral Shirt doesn't bring a new or interesting sound to the table, but they do bring a great execution of the sound they were going for. The vocalist sounds very similar to Diners, which is definitely a good thing.

This album fits it's title of “Integrity Blues”. All of the songs are kind of sad, and sound as if they are missing something that they used to have in their lives. I’m not a huge Jimmy Eat World fan, but i had to go back to their old songs to see if this is just how they always sound.
