I’m going to be completely honest with y’all; I don’t think I’ve been this disappointed in something straight out of the gate like I was with Maximono. I wasn’t told ahead of time that this was club music, and went in expecting something a bit more, well, interesting?

This Album sounds like a disco tech. A germane nightclub, a head banger body shaker category of music is where it fits in. However It wasn’t my jam personally I can recommend it. It sounded like noise and by this I mean it sounded like something I’d listen to but with not a lot of distinction. For an EP it’s pretty good, for a new venture into electronic club music I think its pretty good. It however is not preferable for Free Styling over or any shenanigans to that degree. A good in between song while you are figuring your playlist or talking points.

The Honey EP, a collaboration between Louis the Child and Whethan is super sweet. The EP has six tracks- all completely instrumental. Billboard described them as ‘zippery’ and I think that is pretty accurate. All of the songs are very feel-good, but not in a cheesy way. The bass is not house, but the songs are not super crazy club-like either. They are perfect for anytime honestly. I never really could get into EDM without lyrics, but this stuff I can jam to. My favorites would be “Chop it Up” and “Drip Drip”. These two are funky.

These all sounded roughly the same to me, which made me think that it's geared towards DJs in clubs, because of the pronounced beat to help fade into the next song. But nevertheless it's a good song, and if you like chill beats then you enjoy listening to this song seven times in a row all roughly sounding the same. So you go throught the first five right and you're all like- this could be someones purgatory just to listen to "All My Friends" for literally the rest of existence, but luckly for us this purgatory ends after half an hour.

First off, I had a good time listening to this album - it's got a really fun, party-like atmosphere around it. In addition, while this album sounds like fairly standard club music, JopauL makes each song sound unique fairly memorable, especially towards the middle of the album. These songs just stick in your head and make you want to hit replay after each one. JopauL's done a good job with this album and I'm interested to hear what he'll release in the future.

Jammin’ ditties from jammin’ cats.  Octobop have made quite a pretty album for us to listen to, in the vein of a lounge/supper club jazz orchestra outfit.  Pretty swell, if you ask me; let me count the ways:

1. Got a delightful brass and woodwind section

2. Delicate high hat for the keeping of any and all tempos

3. Soulful solos (“soulos”)

4. Vibes, man.  Vibes
