It's still like a secret

Artist:
El Ten Eleven
Label:
Fake Record Labe

A drumset. A double neck bass/guitar. With these instruments, and these only (no sequencers!), El Ten Elven creates landscapes of sound that surpass many "traditional" music acts of today. Speaking generally, this is an instrumental, chill-but-steady-rockin' beat with little electronic touches. There's some slides that  remind me of Ratatat (6), and there are weird glitchy things to catch the ear of the few Black Moth Super Rainbow/Octopus Project weirdos in the station (3).

Higher Than the Eiffel

Artist:
Audio Bullys
Label:
The End Records

I'll be honest, the only reason I picked this up is because I am pretty sure these are the guys that did a decent remix of Nancy Sinatra's "Bang. Bang," The Kill Bill song, that and oddly enough they're signed to the now extremely eclectic The End Records (Danzig, Sigh, Estradasphere...Audio Bullys?). Well, that and I haven't reviewed an RPM CD in a while so this seemed like as good of an excuse as any. First, the title. Initially I thought it was a double entendre referring to France as a hotbed for RPM music and, well, drugs.
