Katie Frank is a singer-songwriter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that recently released her first full length album “All You’ll Get From Greed”. Her style is easy to listen to pop-rock. Her sound reminds me of a generic track that you could find on Radio Disney. That is to say, this album is very beige. While listening to this album, I zoned out and went from track 2 to track 7 without noticing that I had been listening to an album. The instrumental performances are somewhat lackluster and unimaginative.

Before listening to their recent record, I had always heard of PVRIS, but never heard them. I always assumed they were another band that was overhyped by magazines such as Alternative Press or stores like Hot Topic, but boy was I wrong. The Massachusetts based band has gained a HUGE fanbase since their acclaimed first album White Noise, and have gone on tour with heavyweight bands such as Fall Out Boy and Pierce the Veil.

The past two years have seen the 50th anniversaries (and subsequent re-releases) of two of the most important albums in music history - The Beach Boy's Pet Sounds (originally released in 1966) and The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967). It only seems fitting then, that we continue the 50th anniversary celebration with another re-release of a seminal album of the 60's. While overlooked in comparison to Pet Sounds and Sgt.

Nine Inch Nails has always been a staple of the American metal but the lead singer Trent Reznor has always been experimental but this new EP Add Violence has definitely breached the ground of what is acceptable for metal. With this EP, Reznor has managed to go from seemingly edgy and catchy metal to pure, unadulterated pop rock. Looking at the top hits from Nine Inch Nails, you have noise and fuzzy music but the Add Violence EP is almost pure white noise. With only 5 rather short tracks, the group honestly sounds like a 1980s synth pop band.

Gossip is Sleeping With Siren's newest album and it was more or less exactly what I expected. To start, I used to be a really big fan of Sleeping with Sirens back in like 2012 but times have changed. It's always important to remember that bands are allowed to change their sound and to do whatever they want but I am also allowed to hate it. Truly, this album should not be in the metal category because they lost all semblance of "hardcore" that they used to have.

Norah Jones releases this album titled Day Breaks following up from a 2013 release Forever album collaborating with Billie Joe. This album begins with the song "Burn" which I immediately noticed a pure jazzy sound. Lots of use with the piano and less guitar which have often been emphasized in previous albums such as 2012 release of Little Broken Hearts or acoustics in the 2012 ablum Come Away With Me. Remaining songs in the album continued with the jazz sound.

Femijism, the second album from female fronted Deap Vally is a great album that conveys their emotions through their music and gives it a lot of character. Their subject matter for their songs are deeply feminist and they are very unapologetic about it and I enjoyed this album a lot because of it.They didn't hold back on anything about this album and really expressed themselves and their views. This album really does bring attention to problems women go through in today's society and it really is eye opening, but in a good way.

You know rock isn't my expertise, but this some pretty chill stuff compared to what the album cover and title depict. It's enjoyable if you like this kind of music. I particularly don't listen to this, however it wasn't a bad listen. Even the the cheesy music video on youtube was somewhat intertaining. This is some more of that basic rock that you could get, almost has that 50s vibe to it, some of the chords sounded similar but thats just me. Anyways, its worth a listen, hope to see these guys soon again in a newer album.

Reverse order's sound has definitely improved with age. This EP is upbeat and the lyrics of the tracks included explain multiple facets of relationships and break-ups. The EP is catchy and thus promotes careful listening. It is easy to sing along and even dance to the tracks on the EP. I would highly reccomend all three songs on the EP: Let You Go is clearly an Alt Rock track about the difficulties of moving on. Erase you has a few volume changes and thus is a great listen. Call My Name is my favorite track off the album and is an upbeat alt rock track!
