Wildcats vs. Golden Bears Rivalry More Important Than Ever

By Justin Spears

Unfortunately for the spotlight of both programs and the Pac-12, Arizona and California’s rivalry on the basketball court has been kept underneath the table more than it should.

But since the Golden Bears (18-10, 9-6) were first to stain the No. 3 Wildcats (26-2, 13-2) then perfect season and top ranking, heads finally turned.

Recap of Bill Walton's Public Forum

TUCSON, Ariz. – Basketball legend, Bill Walton stressed the importance of a positive attitude and an ability to adapt to change, at the University of Arizona campus on Feb. 6, 2013.

“The ability in which all of you are going to have to develop in your life to overcome adversity, to re-invent yourself in a constantly changing world and environment, and to be able to create something in your own life that’s valuable to somebody, and you never know who it is, is going to pay you for it.”

Week Three Top 25 PAC-12 Picks

My week three predictions for PAC-12 football teams in the top 25:

2 USC (2-0) @ 21 Stanford (2-0) - Last year's USC v. Stanford game was a thrilling quarterback duel between Andrew Luck and Matt Barkley. It took three overtimes, but Stanford was able to pull out a 56-48 victory. Luck is now in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, while Barkley remains the Heisman hopeful leader of the juggernaut Trojans. I expect USC to prevail 38-21.

Arizona Baseball Looking to Stay Hot Against PAC 12 Opponent in Omaha

On Friday the Arizona Wildcats pulled off an upset against the Florida State Seminoles in extra innings for their first game one victory in the College World Series since 1986. Tonight, they go up against their PAC 12 counterpart, the UCLA Bruins.

Earlier in the season, UCLA took two games out of three against Arizona at High Corbett Field. The Wildcats were victorious by a score of 4-3 in the first game of the series, but in the next two games, it appeared the Bruins were the better team. In game two, UCLA demolished Arizona 15-3, and won game three by a convincing 6-2 score.
