Shopping is an Elglish post-punk trio that formed in the year 2012 and have since been releasing tracks that are exhilrating and to some, present some sort of political dogma. I can see where this may stem from after taking a listen to their newest album. "The Official Body" Is Shopping's third album consists of tracks that heavily state the band's political identity. The tracks on this album are catchy, dancey, and have some pretty hypnotizing beats.

Although there are a lot of bands out there trying to work story-telling elements into their music, Typhoon’s latest album, “Offerings”, makes it their entire focus. It’s very apparent that the album is imbued with an immense amount of emotion, and the listener can’t help but get dragged into the pain and the love expressed within. The track “Algernon” is particularly expressive, to the point of painful self-awareness about how emotionally-wrought what he’s singing about is.

Weddings and Funerals is the sophomore album from The Kickback. Even though it is disticntly a breakup record, the listener is not bored by the expected lamentations about loss. The tracks are still lively and I found myself drumming my fingers on my steering wheel to the instrumetals. Each song is quite eccentric, and the tracks mix it up between the chorus and the bridge, which definitely keeps the listener interested.

Gordon Raphael's Sleep On The Radio consists of a mixture of alternative and rock songs. Aside from the creative song titles, the songs all give a similar vibe. "View From Blue" is the first song featured in this album and it starts off with a slow transition to fast paced guitar strumming. "Seven Stars" is a smooth, vocalized song and "It's So Sleepy In This Noisy Chair" has a more antagonized, upbeat song. "Sleep On The Radio" is the title song of the album and has a catchy chorus.

Marble Party is an indie rock band originating in Mill Valley, CA. Sometimes a Great Ocean is their third album, their first two being Lyle (2011) and Plush Up (2014). This time, Marble Party gives their listeners easy-flowing jams, with a sweet mixture of lazy vocals, guitar, and drum solos. The songs are catchy and easy to sing along to after only one listen of the CD, but part of me thinks that is a bad thing.

I have to say, I did not like this album whatsoever. It was a little too aggressive for me, and while there were hidden chord progressions that I may have liked, the overall vibe was very loud, violent and callous. The singing sounds like yelling over really loud guitar and drums. Also, because its an EP, there are not a lot of songs to choose from (this album has only four tracks). Lyrics were also strange and even somewhat tacky, especially in "Tattoo on my Face" (the refrain is: "I've got a tattoo of my face on my face...uhhh ok).

This album is awesome, kinda has a late 80's feel to it. Every time I listen to it, it gets better.  Mister heavenly had a fantastic comeback in this album, there is a HUGE variety of songs ranging from slower Alt. to jam out Indie Rock! Most of the songs have a nice "feel-good" vibe to them, and are a pleasure to listen to.  The Vocals remind me of a mix between Cage the elephant and Catfish and The Bottleman and have a very strong Alt feel to them.  There are a lot of sick guitar riff's all over that album.  All in all, fantastic album.

Epic lead in on the opening track.  Singer immediately sounds very catchy.  Background music became almost fast paced like EDM for a min there. Kinda freaked me out. Harmony is suprising here too. Oh wow, was not expecting a strong female voice, but I really like it.  She has that playful sounding voice that reminds me of both the lead singer of Haim and Alanis Morsette.

Rostam is the former keyboardist and producer of Vampire Weekend and has worked with artists like Haim, Frank Ocean, Solange, RAC and Declan McKenna. In this album Rostam is tender, orchestral, and has a little bit of Middle Eastern influence in songs like “Thatch Show” and “Wood.” Also, you can hear a little bit of Vampire Weekend from time to time when listening to the album. Rostam incorporates a lot of different musical intruments and styles.

Immediate music euphoria. I am listening to a blissful marriage between the singing style of Yellowcard, the singing style that made Chester Bennington (RIP) famous; combined with what sounds like The Used’s screaming-tinged form of Emo and hardcore rock.
