Misterwives has released two singles from their upcoming album "Connect the Dots" and I am obsessed!! If you have ever listened to Misterwives before, you know their music is fun and dance-y, and just an all around good time. The first two singles from their sophomore album, "Machine" and "Oh Love", are just that, but pack a bigger punch. These songs are edgy and show Misterwives moving forward to an evolved sound from their first record.

I liked this a lot more than I initially thought I would, admittedly. The album starts out strong with "Backslash," a song that sounds like it could be off of one of the good MGMT albums. "Backslash" ends with a cacophonous thud that turns into "The Bad Dream," my favorite track on the album. The album incorporates a variety of different sub-genres--songs like "Normal" are anthemic, and I can easily see it in a romantic comedy trailer, while "Amazing!" is an electropop jam that makes you want to get out of your seat and dance.

Without shame is WOLKOFF's new LP this artist is originally from canada, and has a european pop sound with a 90's electro pop twist. WOLKOFF has a very similiar sounds to la roux and st.vincent. Each song is lyrically exceptional, it makes you feel like you have walk throught time and went bac to the 90's i reccomend the songs fur rabbits and while you still can. both are very euro pop influenced and has that great deep house vibe.

The label says this album "finds everything from EDM to new wave to hip hop" but really it's more just alt and EDM. Not that it's a bad thing, this is a really great album.

The tracks "foreword" and "post script" are purely instrumental, and they're short, so if you're looking for a 2-minute song with no words, those are good. Foreword is better and much less repetitive than post script.

"Don't Worry, It Will Be Dark Soon" is an upbeat electro pop album with male and female vocals and catchy electro sounds. Don't Worry is my favorite track from the album: it starts off slow and a bit dark, but gets a bit more upbeat later on. The track keeps its dark tone throughout, and has a bit of a creepy feel. A Diamond (track 1) is a bit slower, has a mysterious vibe, and is overall an interesting listen. Hunter Gatherer (track 6) is catchy, upbeat, and a fun listen. In addition to the reccommended tracks, be sure to check out Panic Attack (track 3).

If Michael Jackson’s producers in the 80’s made runway music, they’d be called Avan Lava. Well, okay, actually, Avan Lava is composed of three New Yorkers, Ian Pal, Le Chev, and TC Milan, who have developed a reputation as one ofNew Yorks most vibrant pop acts. Don’t get me wrong, this EP is actually quite fun, but it is relatively standard in the realm of dance-y house found during every city’s Fashion Week. What made this EP stand out to me was the use of powerful vocals, which I haven’t often heard be featured on house tracks like these.

This was an ok album. I really like Geographer's older stuff and I must say this kind of fell short of that. This is way more drum/guitar centered than their older more synthy stuff. It also wasn't as upbeat. A few songs were decently good - the rest all just kind of blended together. Most had poor theme development, save for a few. Track 4 actually caught my attention though so play this song if you like 2010 Geographer. Sounds like something you'd hear playing at Urban Outfitters maybe, pretty boring stuff for the most part.

These electro pop dudes hail from Portland, Oregon and this EP came out shortly after the band signed on with Warner Bros. in Spring 2014. As Wikipedia says, their sound is a blend of “electronic instrumentation and heavy folk guitar.” Yup.  They probably would have been pretty popular at my high school, but I can still dig their sounds today. There’s some strange, borderline immature lyrics, but the music is catchy nonetheless.

You don't have to speak a word of French to seriously enjoy French pop band, Yelle, and their latest album, Complètement Fou. The whole album is incredibly funky and will make you wish you were livin' it up in a club in southern France. Since the release of their first single on Mys
