Hard Rock

Fozzy is a hard rock American band fronted by WWE superstar Chris Jericho. They have been around since around 2000 and they've constantly put out great music. This new single is the preface to an upcoming album in October. The single Judas has hard rocking vocals with existential ideas but is really a great hard rock song. This is a perfect rock out tune and would be great for both an alt and a metal show. I really enjoyed this song and thought it sounded similar to early Stone Sour. This is a definite play and I highly suggest it for anyone.

Imagine you're having a mid-life crisis and you decide to buy a motorcycle: this is the episode for you. It's super cheesy hard rock that genuinely sounds like your father's garage band. I would say this is hard rock and nothing more. This honestly isn't a good album, and I feel bad for this band because they put so much heart and soul into this album. It almost ambient which adds a nice touch but it has super cheesy lyrics similar to raunchy 80s Hair Metal band. Check it out if you want, but I don't think I'll be playing it anytime soon.

Nothing to heavy or "scary" as some people would put it. It's more hard rock than metal and would be perfect for both Alt and Metal shows. This album is rather generic when it comes to hard rock. ITunes and the band itself calls "Few" punk but its really generic hard rock like Three Days Grace. There's nothing wrong with that and some people might gravitate to this because it'll be a good opener for their show. It has decent clean vocals and a fast paced beat. It's really enjoyable but it is really just radio metal.

Looking for some moderately screamy local metal for your show? Look no further. Her Name Echoes' new album Cyclic is the album for you. It starts off with a mostly instrumental intro track, which is good if you're looking to get a feel for the album. Most tracks have some form of screaming vocals, so if you're into that, there really isn't a song without the screaming. "Island" is by far the most screamy. All the songs sound similar, so if you like one, you'll like them all.

This female-fronted Finnish hair metal band has been around since 2012 and Bringer of Pain is their lastest album.  "Familiar Hell" is catchy and fun, and raises an important question: is familiar hell better than unknown heaven? Unfortunately, it's not completely FCC clean but still a great song to listen to on your own. The other song, "King for a Day" is playable on the radio and deals with politicians and greed.

CRNKSHFT, a new metal band from Canada, just released their debut EP featuring the single "Systematic" along with three other songs. While two of them are non-airable on the radio, I recommend all of them for fans of hard rock/metal. Their website says the songs are about heartache and emotions, including "Old Habits"  and "Breaking the Silence" which deals with depression and fighting your own mind.

Imagine you’re a mom who used to party all the time and doesn’t really remember high school or college because she was constantly following bands. Striker’s new album Striker would be for people like that, its hair metal. This isn’t bad hair metal but there’s nothing really special about it either. One could describe this band as a generic hair metal band mixed with a crappy version of the Beastie Boys. In terms of instrumentation, the guitars are very powerful and pretty much the most dominant thing you hear in the album.

all the songs on this album remind me a lot of the songs that play on the tony hawk pro skater games.  fast paced hard rock songs that you can't sometimes understand the lyrics but you like it.

This reminds me of that metal from when I used to play Gran Turismo 2 on my playstation. You know that early 2000's vibe, yeah its really good. It's great, solid, driving stuff. None of the that crazy double bass stuf that clutters a lot of the mix. I can really clearly hear the vocals and guitars that compliment it. I enjoy the vocals a lot, not too much screamo or anythin go of that sort, just more of the vocals with lyrics that matter. Maybe a slight resemblence of like Green Day or early Korn.
