Looking for some moderately screamy local metal for your show? Look no further. Her Name Echoes' new album Cyclic is the album for you. It starts off with a mostly instrumental intro track, which is good if you're looking to get a feel for the album. Most tracks have some form of screaming vocals, so if you're into that, there really isn't a song without the screaming. "Island" is by far the most screamy. All the songs sound similar, so if you like one, you'll like them all.

This female-fronted Finnish hair metal band has been around since 2012 and Bringer of Pain is their lastest album.  "Familiar Hell" is catchy and fun, and raises an important question: is familiar hell better than unknown heaven? Unfortunately, it's not completely FCC clean but still a great song to listen to on your own. The other song, "King for a Day" is playable on the radio and deals with politicians and greed.

CRNKSHFT, a new metal band from Canada, just released their debut EP featuring the single "Systematic" along with three other songs. While two of them are non-airable on the radio, I recommend all of them for fans of hard rock/metal. Their website says the songs are about heartache and emotions, including "Old Habits"  and "Breaking the Silence" which deals with depression and fighting your own mind.

Imagine you’re a mom who used to party all the time and doesn’t really remember high school or college because she was constantly following bands. Striker’s new album Striker would be for people like that, its hair metal. This isn’t bad hair metal but there’s nothing really special about it either. One could describe this band as a generic hair metal band mixed with a crappy version of the Beastie Boys. In terms of instrumentation, the guitars are very powerful and pretty much the most dominant thing you hear in the album.

all the songs on this album remind me a lot of the songs that play on the tony hawk pro skater games.  fast paced hard rock songs that you can't sometimes understand the lyrics but you like it.

This reminds me of that metal from when I used to play Gran Turismo 2 on my playstation. You know that early 2000's vibe, yeah its really good. It's great, solid, driving stuff. None of the that crazy double bass stuf that clutters a lot of the mix. I can really clearly hear the vocals and guitars that compliment it. I enjoy the vocals a lot, not too much screamo or anythin go of that sort, just more of the vocals with lyrics that matter. Maybe a slight resemblence of like Green Day or early Korn.

Just like most King 810 songs, you get the nitty gritty vocals of David Gunn and the heavy heart pounding drums of Andrew Workman. If you get a chance, listen to the unedited version of this track because it makes the song even better. Rhythmic and heart pounding, Brahma is a great song to blast to your listeners. The lyrics are dark per usual and the vocals by David are just anguished and rough, something I have come to love. When I listen to King 810 I can hear the sincerity and pain in all of their music. Brahma is no exception.

I don't really know anything about this band, but I've been told that they're both awesome metal with a country motif and that they're (quite disdainfully) the Danish equivalent of Avenged Sevenfold. So, I imagine people's opinion of this single depends a lot on their preference of metal. In my opinion, it's a fun, if simple, single. I personally find Volbeat's unique vocal style pretty interesting, even if it is a little ridiculous.

"The Way of the Future" is the single off Black Stone Cherry's latest album "Kentucky." It's another one of those songs about how awful the world is right now, with lyrics like "though these perfect politicians, they're smothered in grease, it's the way of the future, that don't work for me." Basically he's really angry about the current state of things and wrote a song about it. So if you're also angry about life, this might be a good song. Otherwise, it sounds like pretty much everything they've ever released.

Church of Misery really went for 2 things on the record: 1. Envelope-pushing doom metal (I'd still argue it's a little more hard rocky though; more like Black Sabbath than Bongripper). 2. Shock factor lyrics and album premise. It appears they genearlly focus on serial killers, and looking at lyrics for this album, they usually aim for first person narrative from the killer's point of view. The song Make Them Die Slowly is all about slowly gutting victims and disposing of bodies via sulphuric acid.
