This record takes you to hell and not back. The blast beat drumming is intense and constant thruout the record with exception to the harmonies and breakdowns. Its heavy as hell and sounds like Kataklysms bass asault and death vocals to make you wish you were in hell to see them live in concert. Play the CD at your own risk because you may break something besides your own fist...but Hell yeah, who cares. Pain is essential to glory right. Check it out.

Their first studio album since 1999's "The Gathering," Testament returns to the world of thrash metal with some REALLY heavy stuff. The riffs are nice and heavy, there's plenty of trade-off guitar solos between Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson, and former Slayer drummer Paul Bostaph plenty of nice heavy beats to work around. Vocalist Chuck Billy especially shines on this album, channeling a vocal style that sounds like a lower-pitched/more agressive version of Dave Mustaine. The lyrics deal with religion, war, and... religious war.

Interview w/ Super Stereo

On September 16, I met up with two members of Super Stereo at Club Congress in downtown Tucson. They are a Phoenix band embarking on their first tour ever though various Phoenix venues, Tucson, and Flagstaff. Super Stereo is a new electro pop group hoping to put out a positive message through electronica. They have a sweet blend of 80s sound and 90s vocals into a mix they call future pop. They recently signed with Fervor Records and are hoping to expand with shows in California and across the US.

28 North hails from Pittsburgh and released this self-titled album last April.  This is their first CD, which was produced under the supervision of George Marino, who worked with Pink Floyd, The Arctic Monkeys, and Bon Jovi.  28 North is a classic rock-sounding band who jams well with powerful vocals and authentic tunes.

As I try to write this review, while listening to their songs, I feel like my head is going to explode....They are from Atlanta, and in my opinion, should stay there.  Every song basically sounds the same.  I can see why they have a fan base; they are full of sound and very melodic, however, the cluster of sounds does not work for their sound in most tracks.

Gram Rabbit formed in 2004 from Joshua Tree, CA.  Their unique sound is described as electropop and psych-rock.  The cluster of instrumentals are fantastically layered, and possess a sound unlike most bands.  They are definitely wierd, but that is what makes them stand out as good musicians.

This single is good.  The rapping is solid and fast-paced.  The flow is nice.  The beat constantly builds toward a big kick from the chorus.  What is disappointing is that the chorus fails to deliver that x-factor, and the song just continues to build.  It has a bit of a rock edge to it, and overall it is a decent track.  These guys are talented, but there is certainly something missing.

Inspite of having only one track to play on air (track 1), 4-IZE puts together a catchy song with good harmonies, a fun beat, and good rhymes.  The song "New Day" livens up the mood just as a new day would.  It was a nice combo with the singing and rapping.

Youngtrap is starting to break out onto the hip-hop scene, and he looks to make his move with the single "Everyday."  Now I could see this song fitting in nicely with what the pop charts have to offer today.  With that said, though the song shows that Youngtrap does have some rhyming skills and potential to be good in the future, his music needs work.  With a boring, generic beat that repeats "I get money everyday," this song is very plain and dumbed down.  And the theme of getting money is seriously overplayed.  If you're merely looking for something to spin and pa
