Adding a third album to their repertoire, the iconic duo Run the Jewels has released Run the Jewels 3. Although the style of the music is still the same intense and rebellious style they've had throughout the other albums, the lyrics in this album are darker compared to its predecessors. For example, "2100" is an apocalyptic prediction of 2100. In one of Killer Mike's parts, he mentions how he refuses "to kill another human being in the name of the government", nuclear war, and molotovs. BOOTS sings eerily, "Save my swollen heart. Bring me home from the dark." "Don't Get Captured" also has a dark tone as Killer Mike starts off with pointing out how the rich or the government in poverty-stricken communities buy the land underneath the impoverished, leaving them with nothing. Less political but still intense is the track "Legend Has It." If there's one thing RTJ is great at doing, it's spitting insults. Not only is the beat simplistic enough to make you really listen to El-P and Killer Mike's amazing verses but it still has you nodding your head along. Nothing pumps me up like the crowd shouting "RTJ" at the end of the song. Really gets you pumped up and intense! That's not to say that there aren't any non-political or not intense songs. "Stay Gold" is about how their girl is golden. The lyrics are pretty basic but my favorite line from this track is definitely  "I got a brain-with-an-ass girl." Once again, the beat is pretty simple but still catchy like how RTJ does best. If you want an awesome beat though, play "Panther Like a Panther (Miracle Mix)." Trina's voice on this gives it an edge for the women out there that like RTJ. It's nice to hear a strong woman's voice on the hook! It'll make you "throw the pistol and fist" like they order you to!</
