1992 is The Game's eighth studio album, released on October 14th, 2016. A Nigerian producer by the name of Bongo was the executive producer on this album, producing tracks such as I Grew Up On Wu-Tang and Savage Lifestyle. The 90's hip-hop vibe is captured by the samples, including Inner City Blues (Make Me Holler) by Marvin Gaye, Colors by Ice-T, C.R.E.A.M. by Wu-Tang Clan, and Back to life (However Do You Want Me) by Soul II Soul. The album is based on The Game's childhood, growing up in Compton, CA. The album artwork shows some of the topics that are discussed in the album; including the 1992 L.A. Riots, O.J. Simpson's murder trial, and the 1992 NBA All-Star Game. The game is pictured as the child being tugged by the Crips and the Bloods, The beating of Rodney King is in the upper right corner. Jeremih is the only feature on the album, singing the chorus on All Eyez.

The Game's flow is pretty solid throughout the album, no complaints. There are references to current celebrities like Ciara, Russell Wilson, Future, Kanye, Jay-z, and Drake. There are also references to 90's pop culture like Dr.Dre, O.J. Simpson, Method Man, and Wu-Tang Clan. The album juxtaposes The Game's childhood with his life today. The juxtaposition is most evident in The Juice, F**k Orange Juice, True Colors/It's On, and Bompton. Overall I think the album did a good job of sticking to the theme of 1992. The references to the events, the samples, vocals, and The Game's verses take you back a decade. Give this 53 minute album a listen, I suggest starting with The Juice, Savage Lifestyle, and I Grew Up On Wu-Tang to get you hyped.
