Glenn Cashman’s Southland Nonet

Oh man, let me tell you about these guys.  Just let me.  Glenn Cashman’s Southland Nonet are the kings and queens of class.  A tasteful high-hat tap drives the rhythm on each song with some gentle backing bass, and the brass takes it away.  This is very “supper club,” great for a night out dancing with your sweetheart.  People really don’t do that enough these days; wish I could.  But that’s different.  This reminds me of the Great Muppet Caper supper club scene, in which the love triangle between Nick Holiday, Kermit and Miss Piggy is established.  It’s so beautiful.  Similarly, this stuff is poppin’.  It’s suit and tie music, but also turtleneck and sunglasses music.  Or suit and sunglasses, and tie and turtleneck.  Busta Rhymes aside, play the peanuts out of this; you can’t go wrong.
