Rebelution

Rebelution
Acts:
Common Kings
Concert Date:
Thu, 03/27/2014
Location:
The Rialto, Tucson, AZ

As someone who doesn't really listen to a lot of reggae, I discovered a lot about what kind of music I enjoy by going to see Rebelution. My roommates always play their music, so I had known a few of the songs before attending their concert on Thursday night. I was so impressed by the show that they put on. They had a great stage set up, their lights were perfectly coordinated with their music, and they sounded AMAZING live. In fact, they sounded almost exactly the same live as they do on their albums. That's rare, and it was quite an experience.

Burnt Ones
Concert Date:
Tue, 03/11/2014
Location:
Club Congress

Ty Segall and a caravan of buddies stopped by Club Congress in Tucson on their way to SXSW in Austin. Quite an eventful night, seeing as though Papadosio was playing at The Rialto Theater and TacocaT were jamming out  at a venue down the street as well. If you've seen Ty Segall in the past, however, you know that his shows are not something you wanna miss out on, despite whatever else is going on in town.

There's no doubt that Tucson has a pretty rad local scene. The scene, though generally garage rock oriented,  seems to always strive to incorporate that desert harshness to the music and live energy. Local psych rockers, The Myrrors, brings that psychedelic quality that is greatly lacking in Tucson and does so by fulfilling that desert quality and incorporates shoegazey elements and Native American influences.
