Halsey @ LiveWire

Acts:
Halsey
Acts:
LANY
Concert Date:
Thu, 10/01/2015
Location:
LiveWire, Scottsdale, AZ

Arriving to the venue four hours before the doors were scheduled to open showed a huge turn-out for pop music’s new queen, Halsey. Performing a sold-out show at Scottsdale’s Livewire theatre seems like a big task for this up-and-coming artist, but she handled it with ease. After the September release of her debut album, Badlands, Halsey has taken over the internet and radio waves with her smooth voice and hard-hitting lyrics.

Summer Ends Music Festival (Saturday Night)

Acts:
Big Sean
Acts:
J. Cole
Concert Date:
Sat, 09/26/2015
Location:
Tempe Beach Park

Tempe Beach Park was filled with ecstatic music fans on Saturday of the Summer Ends Music Festival. Crowds of sweaty, musty, inebriated young people gathered around the two main stages to see their favorite bands and performers.

The Saturday line-up included bands and artist such as Slightly Stoopid, Rebelution, Pepper, G-Eazy and more. Being a fan of primarily Hip Hop and RnB, I was mainly there that night for two performances: Big Sean and J. Cole.

Chon at Club Congress

Acts:
Chon
Acts:
Gates
Acts:
Horse Black
Concert Date:
Sun, 10/04/2015
Location:
Club Congress, Tucson, Arizona

Just as a first impression, the show was enjoyably grimey. With parts of the crowd already amazingly drunk at 7:30 p.m. and the second opener, Gates, toting a sign offering free merch for weed and a place to sleep, I knew I was in for something fun. The first act, a band called Horse Black from right here in Tucson, was really solid. While they might not have been very technical musicians, they great slow garage rock sound and picked good songs for the super heavy mix that the Club Congress engineers love so much.

American Candy

Acts:
The Maine
Acts:
Beach Weather
Concert Date:
Sat, 09/26/2015
Location:
The Rock, Tucson, Arizona

There was a huge turnout for this show. Probably because The Maine is from Tempe and it's exaciting to see a band from your state make it decently big. But first, Beach Weather came on stage and was a great opener. Beach Weather is the newly formed band with vocalist Nick Santino who was the former vocalist of A Rocket to the Moon. I've seen Nick Santino live both as a solo artist and with A Rocket to the Moon but I honestly enjoyed Beach Weather the best out of all of his projects.
